My Favorite Things: Amazon

Here is the next installment in “my favorite things” and highlighting my favorite retail website  Amazon.  Disclaimer:  Please remember that I do not get paid for these endorsements and that my views do not represent the view of these companies.  I just love these products and think you may too!

Who it is:  Amazon was founded by Jeff Bezos in 1994 and launched as Amazon.com in 1995.  It started out as an online bookstore but has progressed into the world’s largest online retailer.

What it is:  The primary function of Amazon originally was for others to buy and sell books.  They then began developing into being a distributor.  However all of that changed with the introduction of Amazon Prime which start with free 2 day shipping and evolved into streaming movies and so much more.  Now it is difficult to find what Amazon doesn’t sell as its product list pretty much covers the gaumet.

Why I love it:  Convenience and Customer Service.  I have been a Prime Member since 2011  and love the convenience of being able to order something and know it will show up in two days.  My love started by saving significant money on books and school and has just grown.  It hit full blossom when I called their Customer Service for the first time.  They fully took care of a problem that I don’t even believe was their fault.  It is clear to see why they are as they boast “the most customer centric company on earth.”

Why you should love it too:  It is still great for buying discount books for school.  In addition you can experience discounted Prime through Amazon student  while in college and have significant savings for both shipping and movies with Prime (even at the recent price increase).  Amazon is all about saving money and the more money in your pocket, the easier it is to put money on your loans.
