One of my favorite books that I love to read is Quitter by Jon Acuff. What it teaches is not only the correct way to follow your dreams but gives you a bigger picture to give you both the “why” and the “how” to be great.
The biggest obstacle in following your dreams is debt. Whenever you are matching your income and outgo (or your outtgo exceeds), you can’t take the job for a little less that would move you along. You don’t have the savings to make the move that might be necessary. As Jon says in his book (which he is referring to keeping your day job but it is still applicable), you lose the power to be “dangerous.”
So I am taking a moment outside of what I normally do to tell you this. Student loans are not all better repayment plans, forbearances, and deferments. The goal of student loans should really above all else be to pay them off. Take four jobs if you are able to. Cut down your daily coffee to your weekly coffee. Make date night from 4 star down to a pizza and Netflix. It is worth it.
It is worth it because following your dreams is the most exhilarating feeling you can ever have. I started this blog to follow my dreams and I really want you to do the same. As a result I really really don’t want student loans to get in your way. So anything we can do to get rid of them lets do that. I’m here to help.
